Betty and Barney Hill's Abduction Story

One of the most notorious alien abduction stories in American history is Betty and Barney Hill. They were the first Americans to come forward with the claim that they had been abducted by a UFO and experimented on. Now, Netflix will be bringing their story to its streaming platform with a new film to be titled White Mountains.

The movie will be written by the screenwriting partners of Becky Leigh and Mario Kyprianou. The writing duo also penned the 2014 movie, The Republic of Rick. What’s on Netflix also reports that the feature will be produced by Higher Ground Productions, the production company of former president and first lady Barack and Michelle Obama. Netflix had formed a partnership with the former first couple, and this film will be a new addition to their growing roster of films after titles like Kevin Hart’s Fatherhood and Michael Keaton’s Worth.

The logline for the film reads, “After an interracial couple in the 1960s has a horrifying encounter with a UFO, they set out to discover if it actually happened, or if it is just a case of folie à deux–madness for two.“

The story of the Hill couple has been explored through documentaries, books, and news stories. However, there have been several attempts to adapt it into a feature that never came to fruition. Once Netflix entered the picture, the project began to pick up speed. As of now, there haven’t been any formal announcements as to who would be starring in the movie. As the film is still early in the development stages, the production is likely to start sometime in 2023.

The story of Betty and Barney Hill is a shocking one as not only are they the first Americans with an abduction claim, but they are also the first subjects to have hypnosis regress their minds to recover the memories of that fateful night. Their haunting recollection includes tales of experimentation and medical operation, and since its public reveal, scientists have been trying to conclude the reasoning behind such abductions. Are the aliens trying to research us? Are they taking something from these people? To this day, all questions regarding the nature of these situations go unanswered.

Dr. Benjamin Simon began hypnotizing the Hills on January 4, 1964. The following is Betty Hill's raw audio. Through the power of hypnotic recollection, we peel back the layers of their chilling encounter, delving into the mysteries that lie beyond our comprehension. Get ready to immerse yourself in their story, as we follow them Down the Dark Alley and uncover the chilling

truth that awaits. The incident came to be called the "Hill Abduction" and the "Zeta Reticuli Incident" because two ufologists connected the star map shown to Betty Hill with the Zeta Reticuli system. Their story was adapted into the best-selling 1966 book The Interrupted Journey and the 1975 television film The UFO Incident.
